Adding a Unit Controller via the Manager's Mobile App
Unit controllers can only be added through the Manager's mobile app—this functionality is not available in the Web Portal. Whether you're setting up a new installation or adding a unit controller to an existing unit, both tasks are completed via the mobile app.
Adding a Unit Controller to a New Unit
If the unit is not yet in the NSE system (e.g., it's a new installation), follow these steps to add a unit controller:
- Log in to the Manager's mobile app.
- Tap the + (plus) icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Add Unit Controller. This will create both the unit space and its associated lock.
- Wake the unit controller (press the button on the unit to power it on).
- Choose the device type or tap Scan QR Code to scan the controller’s QR code with your phone's camera.
- Complete the required information for the device.
- Tap Save to finish.
Adding a Unit Controller to an Existing Unit
If the unit is already in the NSE system and you're adding a controller for a retrofit installation, do the following:
- Log in to the Manager's mobile app.
- Tap the Units icon (second from the left).
- Scroll or search to find the unit you want to add the controller to.
- Tap the unit to open its details.
- Tap Add Unit Controller.
- Wake the unit controller (press the button on the unit to power it on).
- Choose the device type or tap Scan QR Code to scan the controller’s QR code with your phone's camera.
- Complete the required information for the device.
- Tap Save to finish.
By following these steps, you can easily add unit controllers to both new and existing units via the Manager's mobile app.
