Adding a Unit Controller to a Unit

How to add and attach a unit controller to a unit.

Unit controllers can be added exclusively through the manager's mobile app. This functionality is not available in the Web Portal. Sometimes you will need to add unit controllers to units that are not in the NSE system yet, due to it being a new installation. For retrofit installations, you can add unit controllers to existing units. Either way, you'll do this via the manager's mobile app.

To add a unit controller to a unit that's not in the NSE system, 

1. Log in to the manager's mobile app and tap the + (plus) icon in the top right corner.
2. Tap Add Unit Controller. This will create the unit space and the lock associated with it.
3. Wake the unit controller, and then select the device or tap Scan QR Code to scan with the phone camera.
4. Fill out the requested information for the device.
5. Tap Save. 
   
   

To add a unit controller to an existing unit,

1. Log in to the Mobile App and click the Units icon (second from left).
2. Scroll (or search) to find the unit that you want to add the unit controller to.
3. Tap on the Unit.
4. Tap Add Unit Controller.
5. Wake the unit controller and select the device or tap Scan QR Code to scan with the phone camera.
6. Fill out the requested information for the device.
7. Tap Save.
