Understanding Nokē Smart Entry System Connectivity
Overview
The Nokē Smart Entry system relies on a network of connected devices to provide secure and seamless access control for storage facilities. This system ensures that tenants, facility managers, and the property management software (PMS) communicate efficiently to manage access permissions and monitor activity.
The diagram below illustrates the key components of the Nokē Smart Entry system and how they interact.

System Components & Connectivity
1. Tenant Mobile App
- The tenant mobile app allows users to access their storage units via Bluetooth.
- Tenants must have the app downloaded and be logged in to open their unit.
2. Nokē Smart Lock
- Installed directly on unit doors, Nokē Smart Locks secure individual units.
- These locks communicate with the tenant’s mobile app via Bluetooth to grant access.
3. Facility Network
- The unit controllers connect to the facility’s local network, enabling data transmission.
- This ensures that all access logs and permission updates sync with the cloud.
4. Nokē Cloud
- The Nokē Cloud serves as the central hub for storing and managing access data.
- It communicates with the facility network to keep tenant permissions updated.
5. Property Management Software (PMS)
- The PMS integrates with the Nokē Cloud to sync tenant information.
- Changes in tenant status, such as move-ins or move-outs, are reflected in the Nokē web portal and app.
How Connectivity Works
- When a tenant attempts to access their unit, their mobile app communicates with the smart lock via Bluetooth.
- The unit controller processes this request and relays information through the facility’s network.
- The Nokē Cloud verifies the access request and syncs data with the PMS.
- If the tenant has proper permissions, access is granted, and the smart lock unlocks.
Conclusion
The Nokē Smart Entry system is designed for seamless and secure storage unit access. By leveraging cloud-based technology and integrating with property management software, facility operators can easily manage tenant access while ensuring a smooth experience for users.
