Mechanical Engineer

Janus International is a leading manufacturer of roll up doors, rolling steel doors and building components for the commercial, industrial and self-storage markets. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Rolling Steel Division.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Ensure that designs and drawings conform to “General Industry Engineering Design Principles”
- Audit processes and report non-conformance to Manufacturing Engineering Manager and/or Plant Manager
- Assist in preparing and maintaining production bill of materials
- Develop drawings of parts and/or assemblies used for production purposes.
- Provide support to vendors that supply components and/or tooling
- Prepare and maintain process procedures and instructions
- Perform other duties as required to support production and product development.
- Develop prints on current products, new releases and changes to parts for acceptable manufacturing feasibility using realistic tolerances
- Develop rework / repair procedures as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Computer literate and proficient in AutoCAD 2007 or above and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- 0-5 years experience (depending on aptitude)
