What is a 3rd Generation Door
Janus
International is the innovator of 3rd Generation door design. By
incorporating the dead axle design of the first generation and the
tension adjustment, radial ball bearings, siliconized polyester paint and
the stainless steel latch of the second generation we are able to provide
all of the features as standard components on our self-storage doors… hence,
the 3rd Generation. In addition, we have enhanced our self supporting
hallway system by substantially increasing the back bracing and incorporating
cross tubes into the swings to give them more strength and integrity. Focusing
on safety for the installer as well as the consumer, we hem our hallway
components to minimize exposed edges. In addition, we offer a hallway
protection package that keeps the hallway safer and more resilient
to daily wear and use.
History
Janus International Corporation has been serving the commercial sheet door market and self-storage industry since 2002. However, the experienced team at Janus has been involved in the profession for more than 30 years. Founded by President David Curtis, he had the vision of bringing to market the 3rd Generation door system, which incorporates the maintenance-free dead axle design which has set the bar for superior door manufacturing. Understanding that continued business means more than good door design, Curtis has assembled experienced customer service personnel, innovative estimators and a knowledgeable sales and production team to offer a full-service experience to each and every customer.
The Roman God Janus
Janus is the Roman god of gates and doors as well as beginnings and endings.
He is recognized by his characteristic double head; one face looks forward,
the other backward. He was attributed the power to see both past and future
events. By royal decree, the doors to his temple remained closed during
times of peace and open during times of war. Janus has become a long-standing
symbol of quality doors, a tradition carried on today by Janus International
Corporation.
